Triad Toys started with a simple dream - to make custom clothing for a small band of collectors that is unique and with the best quality construction and materials available. But when Triad Toys' founder Louie Tran made his own unique character called Kuroikage (Black Shadow), it was time to look beyond the horizon and offer more than just clothing accessory sets. Louie got together with Lead Sculptor Erik Barclay and started scripting the Ternion Wars storyline. With Shane Talbott on the team, he visualized the character concepts and the three of them created the Ternion universe and the rest, as they say, is history.
The Ternion Wars Trilogy is very loosely based on the epic Chinese Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel. A unique story in and of itself, The Ternion Wars has everything you'd want in a sci-fi adaptation of China's greatest novel - flying spaceships, cool monsters, high tech weapons and large mecha robots and martial arts. Kicking off the series early 2009 will be our flagship character, Kuroikage. Sporting the first full-blown bladed ATAC weapon sets with complete modular capabilities, Kuroi's weapons can make over 15 different weapon variations and are also backwards compatible with other Triad Toys figures. You can use other figure's blades, sword guards, handles, etc. to make even more custom weapons! Kuroi also sports a newly developed thin rubber bodysuit that is flexible and fits ultra snug over the Otaku Caucasian skintone body. Her head is also a brand new sculpt by the wildly talented Shane Talbott. Expect to see more than just figures from the Ternion universe in 2009. Kicking off another wave of the Gunn 4 Hire™ (G4H) series are Agents Indigo and Crimson. You've seen the villainous assassins from the Gunn Industries, now check out the competition - the Black Wolffe operatives! Featuring the new Omega male body which we co-developed with Sea International, these WITSEC (Witness Security Protection) figures sports some ultra cool gear. You can expect the same level of quality in their tailored suits with fully functional pockets, zippers and inner lining. Their shoes, belts and gun holsters are made from real leather! The Pale Otakus are practically sold out and we are down to the last few hundred on the Tan Otakus! So if you have not placed your preorder, please do so as soon as you can because we expect them to sell out within the next week. Both the Tan and Pale Otakus are still on schedule to ship at the end of September.
If you missed out on the first wave of the Caucasian Otakus, here's your second chance. She sports a new, more realistic headsculpt, new bras and panties, and with slight mods on some of the joints like the Tan and Pale Otakus. But keep in mind that the Otakus are made from PVC so they still require some slight heating if the joints are stiff during first use. Many people have asked whether our photos are of the actual product and in a simple word, yes. We've refined the painting work on the figures and almost all of the photos you see are actual production paintwork! Preorder early and avoid the high eBay aftermarket prices! One of the most requested items we receive are to make loose shoes and boots for customizing. After much contemplation, we now have a pair of male cowboy boots, male dress boots, female cowboy boots and female biker boots. You can expect the same level of quality with our boots as you would with our clothing or DX line. Each shoe/boot sculpt is rigorously sculpted to fine detail and each part is carefully examined. Check out the pattern and stitch work on each sculpt. All the boots are hand-painted also! The paint details on the stitch lines, buckles, and even the soles are meticulously done by hand!
